Matters Arising
The minutes of the last meeting were signed by RC and JJ.
JJ said that legends night will be held on 4 November, the night before our game against QPR - see AOB for more details.
Update on the points system is a formal agenda item – see below.
As Ian Hinley is on holiday we agreed to roll over his action point.
Action – Ian Hinley to investigate costs of home game/tour trip
Points system
JJ2 showed those present the spreadsheet we have developed to keep track of who is accruing points. JJ2 raised three issues which had arisen since the AGM. Each were discussed in detail and put to the vote. The following agreements were made:
a) The original points system required you to have a City Card in order to take part. The City Card has been replaced with Blue Membership and therefore members who wish to attend games and accrue points are encouraged to apply for this if they have not already. Those present agreed unanimously that you only become part of the points system at the point that you purchase a Blue Membership card. RC should receive the cards already requested during the next week.
Action – RC to provide JJ2 with the list of Blue Membership numbers when the cards arrive.
b) Points are to be allocated to all games. The only exception is where the ticket allocation is decided using the points system (i.e. a champions league final where demand outweighs supply).
c) Where a member of the branch wishes to take non-Blue Membership card holders to a match, it will be up to them to identify someone who is not attending and seek permission to use their card. The member should then tell RC how many tickets they require and confirm who has agreed their membership card can be used. Points will then be given to the owner of the blue membership card (if it is an away fixture) as a thank you for helping out the MSB member. Those present agreed this was a fairer way of handling the situation and would avoid complaints being made by members as to whose card is being used and therefore their position in the points system.
Action – JJ2 to update spreadsheet to reflect attendance today.
Treasurer’s Report
RC confirmed that the outstanding debt of £326 has now been paid.
We have 68 members so far and could possibly rise to 80 if all those from last year renew membership. The first point for declaring membership to the club and paying the annual fee is the end September.
IM said that he had passed an MSB card to someone whose husband is a local fan.
Match Attendance
RC said that 1 person was attending Bolton away, 10 had sought tickets for Spurs away and 42 people have requested tickets for Fulham. We still await confirmation from the club as to whether we can have the 42 for Fulham. 42 is the largest request we have ever had as a branch.
The cut off for QPR away will be 3 October.
JJ thanked RC for keeping the branch afloat with ticket payments over the last month.
Action – RC to circulate e-mail re QPR tickets in mid September
AOB
JJ said that he could not provide details of who will come to legends night this year, but it will be at the Social Club and he has already starting talking to Danny Wilson at the club.
Next meeting – Saturday 24 September, St Francis Social Club, 12pm
August 17th, 2011
