ABOUT MID-SUSSEX BLUES

HISTORY

The branch was formed by four City fans in a pub in Lindfield called The Witch. Its landlord at the time, former Brighton & Hove Albion player Jerry Ryan became the club's Honorary President. We have moved around Mid Sussex since, residing at St Francis Social Club in Haywards Heath, The Water Mill in Burgess Hill before reaching our current home at the Red Lion in Lindfield.

MEMBERSHIP

Over the years, membership has grown to its current level of around 100 people. These people are a mix of young and old, from Sussex and further afield, with a large group of exiled Mancunians amongst their number, all with one thing in common: supporting the best team in the land and all the world!

WATCHING MATCHES

We meet regularly at the Red Lion pub in Lindfield (which is child-friendly) for meetings and to watch games (sometimes through our fingers, but less so nowadays) and we have a group within our membership who travel to City home and away using tickets sourced through the branch.

LEGENDS' NIGHTS

Each year (until the pandemic) we held a Legend's Night and, over the years, we have welcomed ex-City stars such as Rodney Marsh, Shaun Goater, Dave Watson, Tommy Booth, Alex Williams, David White, Paul Lake, Joe Corrigan and Richard Edghill. We have also welcomed celebrity fans like John Stapleton, Susan Bookbinder and Kevin Kennedy to name a few. We aim to restart our Legends' Nights in the season 2022/23.

MATCH TICKETS

We can source match tickets through the Official Supporters Club and these are allocated according to a loyalty points system, whereby points are accumulated by attending branch meetings. Since the branch formed, we have had 19 trips to Wembley (or Etihad South as we prefer to call it!)
